Scan results

I saw Dr. Bhandari this morning. My doctor was on hospital duty this week. I really wanted to see her, but I understand.
I got good news. He said the liver is clean with no tumors. The lung nodules have grown just the least little bit, nothing to be concerned about right now. The tumor between the esophagus and the inferior vena cava blood line has continued to shrink! Is that awesome or what? God continues to heal me and I've not have any chemo/radiation since November 16, 2007. So it's been a whole year since any treatments and the tumor is still shrinking....it gives me chills to think how amazing God is.

I'll have scans again in 3 months. Take care all and again I say thank you to each and everyone of you!

Lots of love,
Kelly

Hi- I just re-read your whole blog and I'm so happy to hear of your successes. My step son Tyler has FHC and is recovering from his third liver resection (although the last time they found that it was actually in the lymph node- not the liver). He's been lucky so far as he's not had to have any chemo. His initial tumor was found relatively early (if you can call it that- the tumor was huge)-and so far it's always been resectable. After each resection- they consider him "cancer free"...but as much as we want to hear that, we also very well know that it's just a matter of time until it comes back. Tyler's Oncologist is researching options for Tyler and I told him of your story and how there was at least one case where chemo worked (we keep getting the statement that there is no reseach blah blah blah, and just like you , we're not accepting that answer)
I'm hoping you can help us by sharing the contact info of your doctor so that Tyler's oncologist can contact her. I've also Googled for Dr. Nguyen, but can't locate him either. I'd also like to find both Rachel and Sallie that you mention in your blog--feel free to forward this email to them in hopes they reply to me.

Your blog has inspired me to possibly start my own FHC blog. Tyler has dealt with the cancer differently than you- He doesn't want to talk about it and wants us all to treat him as if he has no cancer. He is fine with me doing extra research, but hasn't wanted to discuss it a lot- I give him the synopsis of what I find that I think is significant. I respect his wishes, I won't share details of his story without his permission, but I think re-reading your blog has me considering asking him if I can. As you pointed out....there is no research out there. I believe we need to get all these singular stories together so that we can find something that works. Sorry for rambling- I truly hope to hear from you.
